Volume 1, Number 1

Dear Fellow Horsemen,

Welcome to Mid America Equine Sales first electronic newsletter!  We hope this new communication tool will be helpful in getting our sale information to you promptly and provide you easy access to details on our sales events.

As many of you know, Mid America Equine Sales entered its 5th year of operation in 2007. Having outgrown our facility in Carthage, Missouri, we moved the sale to the Expo Square Livestock Complex in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Our first two sales there, held in February and March, were highly successful and seemed to run quite smoothly.

We are still working out a few bugs with the new facility, but overall felt that the people running the Expo Square are helpful and willing to meet our sale company needs. We still want to hear from you, our consignors and buyers, about any concerns or suggestions you have that might improve your sale experience.

We have recently finalized our dates for our fall sales. Because of scheduling conflicts, the dates are slightly different than our past sales, but we feel we have more to offer you by staying in Tulsa.  (See Sales Events Calendar section below.)

August

Friday, August 31 -
Our next sale is scheduled for Friday, August 31, 2007. We are very excited to announce that we will be holding this one day sale during the Ariat Tulsa Reining Classic. This horse show is a major National Reining Horse Association event and will draw contestants from all over the country to compete for over $175,000 in cash and prizes.

In addition to our sale session on Friday, this horse show will be the host for our 2007 Mid America Equine Sales Reining Futurity. Our futurity will be held concurrently with the Ariat Classic 3 year old futurity on Saturday, September 1, 2007. This show is created as an old fashioned, family entertainment and draws thousands of spectators Friday who come to watch the “Slide Zone”. The Slide Zone will feature freestyle reining, an open reining event and a “slide off” where the longest sliding stops earns money for the charity of the rider’s choice.

This sale will feature a full page black type pedigree catalog, with a $250 consignment fee. We will be accepting 200 head for this sale. Our consignment deadline is July 2nd, 2007. Enter your horses early, as we expect this sale to fill up quickly. As usual we will be offering the Purina Select Gelding Session.

October

October 19-20
- The next sale will be held October 19th and 20th 2007. Horses selling on Friday, the 19th will be charged a $150 consignment fee and will have a ˝ page catalog entry. The horses selling on Saturday, the 20th will be charged a $250 consignment fee and will have a full page black type catalog entry.

We will feature a Purina Select Gelding Session both days. We will be accepting a total of 400 head for the 2 day sale. The consignment deadline for this sale is August 27th, 2007.
