Cowboy Symphony
Exciting news! The Topeka Symphony has teamed up with Judy Coder and Pride of
the Prairie for an unforgettable night of cowboy music. The symphony's
spring pops concert, "The Wild, Wild West" will be Saturday, March 31, 2007. The
program will include music from some of your favorite cowboy movies, along with
a few surprises, including several tunes pairing the symphony with JCPP in some
of their best hits! Judy will be busy this fall, writing the orchestral parts to
enhance JCPP's performance. Imagine what "Ghost Riders" will sound like with
orchestral accompaniment! Season ticket holders have already purchased their
seats, and tickets for single shows went on sale on Friday, September 1. A

Trail Ride this Fall
Fall is the most perfect time to go trail riding! Roy Frey Western is carrying a complete line of trail riding supplies form the Stowaway gear bags and water carriers to insulated saddle bags. Dewayne and I highly recommend riding the Wild Horse Equine Trails at Perry Lake. They are beautiful this time of year. Lots of wildlife – beaver, deer, and turkey. The trails are nicely marked and maps are available. Enjoy!

New fall merchandise is arriving daily at Roy Frey Western. Come see the new
Ariat Boots for cowgirls and cowboys. They are outstanding! Ariat has a new

serious horseman or someone looking for extreme comfort. This technology

Painted Ponies
If you are a collector of Painted Ponies, you will be happy to know that the new
releases will be arriving soon. These make great Christmas gifts. We have
several of the retired Ponies left including: Horsefeathers, Tropical Reef
Horse, Thunderbird Suite, Kitty Cat’s Ball, Skyrider, Willing, Saguaro,
Caballito, Epic, On Common Ground, and Patrol Horse. The Christmas ornaments are
in and are perfect stocking stuffers or to put on a miniature tree.

starting at 6:00 p.m. The LSSC is serving homemade chili, vegetable soup,
dessert and drinks at their Chuck Wagon Kitchen.
Sept 20-21 - American Royal BOTAR Tablescapes Luncheon (benefit
for The American Royal Scholarships). Preview party & meet the designers, Wed.

Sept 23 - ST JUDES TRAIL RIDE - Saturday, September 23 at
Rockhaven Park, Clinton Lake, Lawrence. Check in time is 7:30 a.m. Ride starts
at 10:00. A minimum donation of $10 is needed to join in on the ride. Bring a
sack lunch, drinks. Return to camp around 3 p.m. The day will end with a free

Sept 24 - Cystic Fibrosis Trail Ride, Circle S Ranch,
Lawrence. Call Candy Braksick 913-796-6924. Sunday, September 24, registrations
begins at noon (pre-register by calling CFF at 913-384-8997). Ride starts at
1:00. Bring your horse for a day of riding, followed by dinner! Be sure to
solicit donations in order to win great prizes while helping the CF Foundation.
A minimum $35 donation per rider includes dinner and one ticket for the prize
drawing. Riders will receive one additional ticket for each additional $10.00
collected up to a maximum of 23 tickets. LOCATION: Circle S. Ranch & Country

Ride. 10 a.m. start and ride large pasture near Osage City until around noon and
stop for lunch (bring your own), then continue the ride arriving back at the
trailers in time for an evening meal. Cost is $25 per rider which includes
evening meal. Evening meal for non-riders is $5. Ride limited to 100 riders.
