3rd Anniversary Storewide Sale - October 27-29th!

Dewayne and I are celebrating our 3rd anniversary of owning Roy Frey Western the end of October. To show our appreciation to all of the customers who have supported us, we are having a big storewide sale. We want to dance with the ones who brought us and that is you! Thanks so much for your support and friendship while we continue to grow and learn. Join us for storewide savings and specials as follows:

The Hat Doctor is Coming Back!

Rex Fleming, The Hat Doctor, is coming back to Roy Frey Western, October 28 & 29th. Bring in your beloved felt hats that need cleaning, new liners, new sweatbands or just a good tune-up. Rex specializes in shaping hats to fit a person’s face. This is a perfect opportunity to get ready for the big AQHA Championship show or Queen’s contest or get that perfect hat to wear. Hat accessories such as hat cans, brushes, rain covers and hat bands will be available.

Roy Frey Western is stocking open crown Palm Leaf Hats now year round. Come in to have Dewayne personally shape one for you. After he shapes it, he can brand your initials on the brim or a special figure on the crown.

Be a Cowboy For Halloween

It’s time for the little ghosts and goblins to come trick or treating. Roy Frey Western can help outfit the little buckaroos and buckerettes! From hats, shirts, vests, bolo ties, belts, jeans, boots, and chaps to stick horses, ropes and six-shooters – we have it all. Great thing about getting your costume here is that the kids can wear it after Halloween is over! Come see the great new selection of kid’s boots!

Purina Dream Ride

A big “thank you” goes out to The Flying W Ranch, Ernie Rodina (Purina) and Suzan Barnes (Grand Central Hotel) and their great staffs for putting on a wonderful time in the Flint Hills! We had a great time, great scenery, and great food. And great entertainment provided by Geoff Dawson, Ron McDaniel, Gary Pratt, and Delbert Shields. Steve Stafford’s Church Service was inspiring as usual. Fall is the most perfect time to go trail riding in the Flint Hills! This is a great event and will be held at the Flying W again next year the last week-end in September. This event sells out every year so make your reservations early.

Drop Off Point for KSU Equestrian Team Tack Donations

The KSU Equestrian Team is in need of good, clean, used or new English and Western tack and grooming supplies. Especially needed are snaffle bits, leather chin straps, headstalls, reins, saddles (for short people) and show clothes. This fall when you clean out your tack room or horse trailer, think of the KSU Equestrian Team and bring your items to Roy Frey Western. We will get them to Head Coach, Teresa Slough. Your support with this tack drive is greatly appreciated.

The Topeka Capital-Journal ran a nice story on the KSU Equestrian Team October 8 - http://catzone.cjonline.com/stories/100806/cat_equestrian.shtml

Farmhouse Daze

What a great fundraiser for an even greater cause. Hats off to Scott Perkins, The Country Parson and his volunteers who in spite of Mother Nature’s rain showers on Sunday, brought great fun and music to the 21st & Auburn Road location in Topeka. For more information or to give a donation, contact Scott at www.thecountryparson.com. Church on Sunday starts at 12:00 p.m. following Scott’s radio show on 94.5 FM Country.

Purpose/Fund Raiser (from www.farmhousedaze.com) The primary purpose of FarmHouse Daze is to raise awareness and money for an indoor rodeo arena and cowboy church facilities at the FarmHouse. The rodeo arena will be used through the week as cowboys and cowgirls of all ages come to work on their specific rodeo events and their relationship with Christ. There will be a monthly high school rodeo with an annual all-around cowboy and cowgirl award. The FarmHouse has a mission, a motive and a method in helping families in their journey here on Earth and Heaven. From the young’ns to the grandparents and everyone in between, the FarmHouse is the place to find hope and encouragement.

Twisted X Boots

Twisted X boots for cowgirls and cowboys will be arriving soon. Twisted X boots are developed by horsemen for horsemen and horsewomen. We loved the “back to cowboy basics” construction of the Twisted X boots. The heels have a longer heel base for more stability. The SDtm Footbed features moisture wicking, antibacterial and is machine washable. Ladies will love the fun and comfortable tie Twisted X shoes which has a sole that feels like you are walking on marshmallows! Come in and try on a pair!

Jacket Time

Cowboys, the new fall and winter vests and jackets from Powder River, Outback, and Wrangler have arrived. Wool, canvas, lambskin or suede in grays, browns and blacks - come see the big selection. Don’t wait or these great vests and jackets will be gone. Get a George Strait wind shirt for golfing or just to look good in. Camo sweatshirts are also available. Outback oilskin dusters have been selling like crazy!

Cowgirls, you will be styling at the barn or work or play in a new vest and matching blouse. Vest colors for fall are black, chocolate brown, hot pink, KSU purple, orange, and lime green. We have lots of hoodies in turquoise, pink, orange, chocolate brown, and light blue. Need a heavier coat? We have several styles from Outback. We love Outback’s attention to design and detail – made to ride in – their colors are great and the price is very economical. Roper barn coats win the prize for the best color this season – periwinkle lined with lime green – it’s so cute! Don’t forget good ole denim blue – trimmed with fur or crystals or just a plain barn coat. Check out the new suede wraps and fringed scarves!

It’s a Western Christmas

It’s not even Halloween and we have a Christmas tree up and have sold tons of Christmas ornaments! Bless those who are so organized that they have started their Christmas shopping! Turquoise ornaments with rust stars is our theme for this year with barb wire garlands. We have lots of horseshoe ornaments, glass balls and many different ideas for your holiday decorating. Check out the new “horse stockings” – shaped like a horse’s leg and one’s with horse scenes on them. Don’t forget to make the house smell good with soybean candles (burns longer, no soot, and cleans up with water) in a western design candle warmer. Western Horseman calendars for 2007 are selling fast as are the Leanin Tree Christmas Cards. Remember, we have layaway for those early shoppers.

Western Throws

Just arrived from American Ranch is a throw blanket made from a microfiber fleece material and embroidered with bucking broncs. The top is a luxurious faux suede material bonded to a ultra soft microfiber fleece. This 50” by 68” blanket will be everyone’s favorite for cold nights in front of the fire. Perfect as a Christmas present for anyone with a living quarter horse trailer or who just enjoys the western lifestyle.

Belt Buckles

Belt Buckles make great Christmas gifts, but if you want them customized and engraved, we need to get the order in to Santa Claus! It takes 6-8 weeks for the elves to make a customized belt buckle!

Year-end Awards

Roy Frey Western is happy to assist equine organizations with their event and year-end prizes and awards. Let us help you work within your budget and find new and unique items. Monogramming is available. I have a list of award ideas and prices I’d be happy to e-mail to you. E-mail me at jo@royfreywestern.com.
