The Wright Flight Program is a non-profit organization. Dewayne Burgess, a retired Air Force fighter pilot, and owner of Roy Frey Western in Topeka, KS, founded the original Kansas Chapter in 1996. He later encouraged friends in Missouri to establish a chapter and currently serves as President of the recently combined Kansas/Missouri Chapter.

This program is designed to use aviation interests to motivate students to perform at a higher level in school. Students, grades 6-12, must meet two requirements to be successful in the Wright Flight Program. First, each student must score a minimum of 85% on an end of course exam for their aviation class. Second, the student must set and achieve an academic or behavioral improvement goal. The student’s chosen goal must be specified in a contract provided by Wright Flight. This contract is then signed by the student, the student’s parents, and the student’s teacher. When students meet all requirements, the reward they earn is a flight with a volunteer pilot in a light aircraft. They even have the opportunity to fly the plane under the watchful eye of a highly experienced pilot! If the goals are not met, the student is welcome to continue trying until they do in fact reach the sky. Please visit www.wrightflight.org if you would like more information on the Wright Flight Program.

Our goal for this trail ride is to help raise money to offset the fuel costs accumulated by the pilots volunteering their time and aircraft to reward these students. All of the resources that are to be used to organize this trail ride will consist of 100% of donations from wonderful people like you. In addition, 100% of the funds received from these donations will go directly to the purpose intended. I do hope you are able to support a worthy cause. Thank you in advance for any and all support you can give this wonderful program. We greatly appreciate our sponsors and please patronize them!

Call 785-232-0579 (Roy Frey Western) to make your reservations for the ride or drop off your donation.
